The true difference is the time it takes to apply the treatment and the time the treatment lasts. Express blowout is the perfect treatment for those on the go. It is a quick one-hour application process so that you do not have to dedicate your entire day to the salon. Keratin Treatment, on the other hand, requires more time at the salon. A properly applied treatment can take anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on the length of your hair and how much hair you have.

When can I wash my hair after Keratin Complex treatment?

This treatment doesn't straighten hair (it does loosen my curl just a little bit); it just smoothes down frizz and decreases dry time. You can wash your hair after only eight hours as opposed to the full keratin treatment's 72-hour washing ban, and the results lasts four to eight weeks.

Do’s

• DO wait 72 hours before shampooing.
• DO wear hair down at all times.
• DO blow-dry and flat iron hair if hair gets wet during the first 72 hr period.
• DO style your hair with a blow-dryer and brush during the 72 hrs if desired.
• DO put hair in a shower cap when bathing.
• DO wear a silk scarf to pull your hair away from your face.
• DO use the correct after care products such as GK shampoo and conditioner or Keratin Complex Care or Keratin Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner, as they are sodium-chloride free and won’t strip keratin from hair .
• DO protect the hair from absorbing salt and/or chlorine when swimming by wetting the hair with clear water and applying a Deep Conditioner or Serum/Oil to protect the hair.

Don’ts

• DON’T wash or wet hair for 72 hours (3 days).
• DON’T tie hair into a ponytail as this may leave a lasting impression.
• DON’T wear hair clips, hair bands or bobby pins as these may leave a lasting impression.
• DON’T place hair behind ears for long periods of time.
• DON’T rest glasses on head or use them to hold the hair back.
• DON’T sweat.
