For the whole summer, every Saturday on school Street, there will be a vendor fair for local businesses and artist to display their work. We were able to spread the word of all the great things that Vivid has to offer and what wonderful businesses are right here in town. At this event, we are able to get back to the community and allow them to sparkle with our hair tinsel. We also had a variety of accessories and gift cards available as well. Vivid had a great time as there are so many events going on downtown to join in. Vivid is proud to be among our wonderful community.

Vivid goes to William J. Dean technical High School to teach students all about the fascinating world of hair extensions. We showed them how to put in Tape-In Hair Extensions. Basia, Vivid Hair Salon & Spa owner enjoys giving back to her High school she her self went to and graduated.

Basia also attended the area’s largest bridal show, The Western New England Fall Bridal Show, held at the Mass Mutual Center. Not only did she have a booth promoting Vivid’s bridal services, she also helped do hair for the fashion show!
This October Vivid Hair Salon and Spa held an event called Vivid Cares for Cancer. This event was a day of beauty FREE to cancer survivors and those in remission to enjoy beauty and wellness services.
Thanks to all our generous contributions we were able to make the day a huge success!!! This day of beauty was truly enjoyed by everyone who walked in the doors, from: door prizes, raffles, food, drinks, flowers, photography, makeup, and more. For many cancer survivors it was the first time they were pampered and for others it was a reminder that they deserve to feel beautiful inside and out, not just today, but every day.
We were able to raffle out approximately over $5,000 worth of gifts during the event. I cannot express how much fun it was to see the joy in everyone’s face. A big shout out to everyone who helped and made this possible from donating raffle prizes, food, and supplies!!
I hope you all will be able to help further the important work of Vivid Cares in the Western Mass community again. Thank you!

Vivid participated in Westfield’s down town trick-or-treating! From 4-6pm all of Westfield came to downtown to go door to door of participating businesses to say “trick or treat!”

On October 21, Owner, Basia and co-worker, Julianna, offered their skills and services to do hair styling on 25 high school students for a revolutionary Fashion Show celebrating high school students of all shapes, sizes, styles, ethnicities, sexual orientation and physical ability! Students from over 25 different schools come together to make this incredible event possible!
Owner, Basia, volunteered her time for a fashion show for moms called Mommy & Martini’s. Not only did she do hair for the models but she gave a small speech on some simple quick everyday styles for moms on the go!
Owner, Basia, also volunteered her time to attend Staples first annual back to school block party! Other local businesses also volunteered their time to have a booth at the block party. Tons of kid’s activities included bingo, face painting, crafts, cotton candy machine, photo booths and snacks!

Hair New England owner Lori Banks personally comes to Vivid to show us the newest So Cap Hair Extensions “Cold Hair”! One lucky client was able to experience the new hair extensions first hand by being our wonderful hair model!

This year the city celebrated their 350th anniversary with a bang! With a fun filled weekend in May, there was everything from a Road race, music, activities and even a spectacular fireworks show! Basia, Owner, participated in Westfield States fourth annual cancer buzz-off fundraiser to benefit One Mission: The Kid’s Cancer Buzz-Off on Sunday, April 9.
This year’s buzz-off event had a fundraising goal of $1,000. Participants had been fundraising throughout the semester and throughout the fundraiser, at which participants’ hair will be buzzed off in solidarity.
“Kids with cancer do not have the choice to lose their hair, so the buzz-off supports them and shows that bald is beautiful,” “The money helps patients and families going through some of the toughest moments of their lives and reaffirms that they are not alone in this battle.
Basia, Owner, dedicated her spare time to teach the students of the cosmetology program at STCC about hair extensions. Here at Vivid we offer multiple different types of extensions, Basia was able to share her knowledge about the history of hair extensions as well as demonstrate proper application and removal of all the different types of extensions we offer. As well as educating the students on who would be a good candidate for each type of extensions. During this time the students were able to practice on mannequins and each other the application of extensions.
Basia and two Vivid employees, Jena and JuJu, were guests on Mass Appeal to demonstrate current spring trends. Basia showed a live demonstration on how easy it is to add tape-in extensions for a pop of color without damaging your hair.
Another successful fundraiser was held this month to help support The Cancer House of Hope. All donations helped provide cancer treatment, wigs, accessories and so much more not to mention all the families!
Every year Vivid opens their doors to the Springfield Technical Community College Cosmetology program for a tour of the salon. During the tour we give them insight on the profession they are going into as well as answer any questions about our salon and or the industry.
This year we gave away a $200 gift card as a “new year, new you” Valentine’s Day gift! Our lucky winner and longtime client was more than thrilled to have been randomly selected as our guest of honor this season.
This January stylists Jena and Gianna as well as owner, Basia, went to the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas! The event brought thousands of salon professionals to Las Vegas for an epic three-day Redken education event. With dynamic programs, salon professionals enjoyed an inspirational seminar of learning while gaining the skills to learn better, earn better, and live BEST in their careers.
Alexis Avery, 20, was taken not only from us but from her beautiful daughter, Darla. For the month of January Vivid opened our doors to collect items and monetary donations for Alexis’s family who is now the primary care taker of Darla.

Basia participated in a benefit for the Children's Museum at Holyoke, on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Log Cabin. The event featured dinner, drinks and dancing. The main event of the evening featured local stars with professional dancers. Each pair performed a prepared routine on the dance floor. Other offerings of the evening included a sit-down dinner, silent auction, gift card balloon pop, and chance to dance with the professional dancers on the dance floor.
Vivid was so proud to help make a difference, ONE HAIRCUT AT A TIME! Vivid hosted a cut-a-thon on Saturday, October 13 to help benefit Unify Against Bullying by donating proceeds of each service to the organization.
Vivid participated in Westfield’s annual downtown event by hosting the youth of the community as Trick-or-Treaters into our business the Friday before Halloween. We were thrilled to interact with the community and hand out candy!
Surpassing Survival with Beauty was such a success due to the efforts of Each Moment We’re Alive and all the staff at Vivid as well as our volunteers and all the support of Cindy Murphy, manager of EMWA. This month we had the pleasure of meeting RedKen Artist, Randy, for an in salon class. We were able to pick his brain about everything from formulating to techniques to life behind the scenes. It was such a pleasure to welcome him into our salon and to learn everything he had to share! We were fortunate enough to have this in depth class for FREE due to our strenuous and tedious decorating efforts this past holiday season as we won this class by entering our salon into a RedKen display contest.

Amelia Park Children’s Museum awarded Basia with a Community Service award this month!

This month Vivid made it a point to become members of the Unify community and stand up against bullying! We have children come in and out of our salon daily and would love to hear their positive school experiences they are having. Unfortunately, sometimes that is not always the case! This is why we are passionate about joining this program and making a difference in the Western Mass community any way we can!
Not only is Basia an ambassador for this fantastic organization but she also jumped out of a plane for UNIFY for their Fly for Unify fundraiser! This mission for this event was to send a message to kids struggling with having the courage to speak out about what is truly going on in their lives. “It takes courage to say something because it’s scary”. Overall, the fundraiser was a huge success!
Vivid Cares has been consistent with trying to help with donations for The Cancer House of Hope in West Springfield, MA. “The CHD Cancer House of Hope is committed to providing access to free services and therapies that bring comfort, care, strength, resilience and hope to patients with cancer and their loved ones.” We find it a priority to help give back any way we can to show our support. This month we took donations to help those in need to show let’s hang cancer out to dry!
Being a modern hair salon, we try our best to be at the tip top of the newest trends, techniques, and technology in the industry! This month's stylist, Sam, and owner, Basia, learned more about infusion hair extensions and donated a complete hair makeover to two amazing women by using them as a model during the certification class! We love days like this because it’s a win for our stylist but most importantly our community! We are also very proud to now have our stylist Sam officially SOCAP certified!
Basia, owner of Vivid, was a special guest on WSKB talking about the community and upcoming events. WSKB is a radio station that is licensed to serve Westfield State University and the Greater Westfield, Massachusetts area.
Basia, owner of Vivid Hair Salon & Spa, was asked to dress up as Disney character, Elsa, and sponsor a children’s tea party held at the Amelia Park Children’s Museum. Co-worker Gianna, also accompanied Basia to this event to help mingle with the children!
On Sunday, May 6, Vivid proudly held a Paint Craze Paint & Sip party! It was a great afternoon of painting and FUNdraising to benefit The WMASS Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association. We are so thankful for everyone who came out and helped support!
Westfield’s Annual Road Race was held on Saturday, May 19 where Vivid set up a booth outside of the salon giving away free waters and goodies to the runners and all attendees of the event. It was great to get hands on and mingle with the community!
On May 15, Basia attended the Unify Kids Fashion Show held at the Log Cabin in Holyoke. Unify Against Bullying wants children to know they are not alone but are supported by a loving community.
Vivid Hair Salon & Spa was also featured on The WMass Bizz Show. The show is a community spotlight collaboration whose mission is highlighting businesses is all trades, giving them an opportunity to tell their story! Owner, Basia Belz, and co-worker, Gianna Ricco, spent the morning and first part of the afternoon at Westfield State helping spread awareness about suicide and domestic violence prevention as part of the schools Health Fair & Fresh Check Day.
Vivid was also collecting new and or used prom dresses throughout the month coordinated by the Westfield Centennial Lion’s Club to donate to Westfield High School students. We were so thrilled with the outcome; we were able to donate over 70 dresses!
Vivid Hair Salon & Spa was thrilled to give the students from the STCC Cosmetology program a tour of the salon. We were able to show them the ins-and-out of a salon and share some of our stories to help inspire over 20 young and upcoming hair stylists.
Sunday, April 22, Basia helped alongside the Lions Club to celebrate Earth Day by planting trees, painting rocks, educating other about being cautious towards Mother Nature and so many more fun Earth Day activities!
Tuesday, April 24, Basia and co-workers, Gianna and Kailee, set up at The Ranch in Southwick for a Chambers table-top vendor event with local businesses. It was a great evening for networking and meeting other local business as well as their owners.
Sunday, April 29 Basia helped out at Westfield State’s Buzz Off event to raise money towards pediatric cancer. The event was proudly able to raise and donate over $1,000.
Monday, April 30, Basia and co-worker Gianna, were able to again visit the students apart of the STCC Cosmetology program and educate them all about hair extensions. From history to purchasing, applying and removing, the students were given hands on opportunity to practice on Gianna as a live model.
For education this month Vivid Hair Salon & Spa was visited by Platform Redken Artist Kelly McGee who educated us as well as our friends from Studio One in Feeding Hills on different Balyage techniques and methods. We also traveled to Rhode Island for Hair Color New England where we were educated from several different artist and brands such as Chris Stapleton (yes, Kim K’s hair stylists!!) who shared some of his favorite top secret tricks with us!
This March Vivid Hair Salon & Spa was very active within the community! Owner, Basia Belz, along with other Vivid staff held a booth at the Springfield Thunderbirds hockey game to support breast cancer awareness. A free color service was also given to help support Color Awareness for St. Baldrick’s with a bright all over gold color! Basia also took the time to go to the St. Patrick’s Day Chambers breakfast.
This February Vivid Hair Salon & Spa showed their support for our local girl scouts by selling cookies in the salon Saturday, February 18th.
Vivid Hair Salon & Spa also partnered up with Flowers by Webster (Westfield, Ma) to offer a terrific Valentine's Day Special! By purchasing a bouquet of flowers, customers also received a $50 gift card for their special someone!
Here at Vivid we have on-going monthly contests to win anything from free products to free services and more! This February we held a drawing to win a free make-over valued at $200. Our loyal client since 2013, Amanda Quinlan, won this year's Valentine's Day drawing.

Basia, owner, and co-workers, Sam and Kailee, plunged in to the freezing cold water this January at Hampton Ponds to support the Amelia Park Children’s Museum. With a goal of raising $1,000, we are thrilled to be able to say we reached that goal!
Vivid Hair Salon & Spa owner, Basia Belz, took time out of her busy schedule this December to visit high school students at The Gilbert School in Winsted, CT to educate them about the importance of marketing and branding. She shared with them how her experience in college prepared her to become a successful business owner via the classes/courses she took. As well as educating them on the challenges that may occur, how to utilize social media to emphasize the importance of branding and how to create, build, and maintain relationships in the community of your business.
This holiday season Vivid Hair Salon & Spa teamed up with NCYF (Northeast Center for Youth & Families) to help donate toys and canned goods. In the salon we had a ‘giving tree’ which had paper glove ornaments containing a boy/girl there age and what they wished for Christmas. All of our clients were extremely generous and not only purchased those gifts but brought extra donations as well! All of us here at Vivid were thrilled to be able to give back so much to those in need!
On Friday, December 1st Vivid hosted a customer appreciation night. Including free giveaways, several raffles, food and specials on products and gift cards as well as opening our doors to clients selling there festive goods to the public. It was a great success and we were so joyed to be able to give back to our clients and be able to spend time with them!
#Vividcares was in full effect this holiday season! For the first time we offered the 12 Vivid days of Christmas where we had different amazing deals and giveaways every day! We hope in upcoming years to continue this new tradition. We also wanted to spread the word about #Vividcares by partnering up with the local students of Westfield Vocational graphic arts department to help create these great T-shirts! We have given away dozens of free shirts to our community and clients as a token of our appreciation this holiday season!
Basia Belz, owner, spoke at the Westfield Chambers after 5. We had a free raffle prizes and offered to share our knowledge and giveaway numerous free goodie bags to the public and members. This event was a nice way to end the year of networking and giving back to the community. We look forward to many more events in the future!
WESTFIELD - Monsters lurked, creatures creeped and bite-sized superheroes saved the city from evil Friday night at the annual Downtown Trick or Treating, now in its 24th year.
Dozens of businesses gave out candy and welcomed families to celebrate Halloween together in an effort organized by the Westfield Boys & Girls Club...

Our winner received a free hair and makeup service as well as a goodie bag of some great vegan Purology hair care products!!! Thank you for all the nominees!
For the whole month of October, Vivid Hair Salon & Spa donated all proceeds to the Survivor Journeys foundation! We are offering a free pink hair extension, clip-in or colored pink strand with every $10 donation!
On October 8th, Vivid's staff and volunteers were able to beautify 60 Cancer Survivors! Our phrase was: "Let us spoil you!" We did Makeup Makeovers, using optimal, cancer safe products. Dr. Jay Burton and Survivor Journeys, a non-profit organization, will once again be our main sponsor which supports the whole woman inside and out. The lady's were able to get there hair styled and even get a free photos done by Andrea York photography! Owner Basia Belz, volunteered giving free, private complimentary wig consultations. We even offered free Reiki, food and refreshments and raffle prizes! As a participant, they received their own take home beauty bag (valued at $200) with cosmetics, hair products and coupons, including a customized foundation to match your precise skin tone. The event was a huge success! Owner Basia, was able to announce the event on iheart radio and on the show Mass Appeal for news station 22. I want to thank all the volunteers, Vivid staff, vendors and sponsors who helped and donated to this event! We look forward to what next year will bring!
Vivid Hair Salon & Spa wanted to help out with all the disasters this year so many have suffered. We decided to give back to the animals that are in need. We chose the foundation, Hurricane Pets Rescue Inc. They began as a disaster relief organization for animals. “Either alone or in conjunction with other organizations they continued to rescue pets and reunite them with their families following every major disaster since. In many cases, having just lost everything, the humans end up being the ones who need our support the most.” (HPR).
The employees of Vivid and owner, Basia Belz, spent the day at Camp Shepard of Westfield, while donating to a great cause! A fun filled day of team building and leadership activities at Camp Shepard through the Westfield Chamber of Commerce auction was to help local kids receive scholarships.
For the month of July Vivid Hair Salon and Spa was collecting donations for Dakin Human Society. Vivid Hair Salon and Spa are very big animal lovers and by collecting donations for Dakin we are in hopes that we will make the animals staying in the shelter a little more comfortable while they search for their forever homes! We ended up collecting over 100 items to donate to the shelter for our furry friends!
Vivid had the honor of being apart of South Middle Schools pancake breakfast this year! Here we had the amazing opportunity to share a few flap jacks with other Westfield chamber remembers and people of the community. We had a wonderful time getting the Vivid cares project name out there and eating some good food with even better people!
Vivid Hair Salon and Spa's girls softball team did an amazing job this season! We could not be more proud of sponsoring such talented young women! You may have not won the championship, but you ladies won the season and our hearts at Vivid! We will get them next season! You go girls!

On April 14th we held a fun daughters day event right here in our salon. The purpose of the event was to give parents the opportunity to bond with their daughters and also learn some new trendy hair styles along the way! We had an successful day with many smiling faces, we look forward to planning another fun and entertaining event like this!

"The Kid’s Cancer Buzz-Off benefits pediatric cancer patients, their families, and cancer research. The organization spreads the donations in four ways: by giving smiles, including decorating hospital rooms, giving comfort by providing caregiver relaxation, giving assistance to individual families and research grants, and giving support by providing education and outreach programs."
WSU raised over $2000 for this event that we were so fortunate to be apart of!
Vivid had a beautiful table set up at the Westfield Boys and Girls Club at their LuLa Roe event for domestic violence awareness. At this event donations are raised for domestic violence victims in our community to help give them a fresh start. We did a free Vivid Hair Salon and Spa gift card and also installed purple extensions pieces to help raise donations towards the Center Against Domestic Violence.

It's very devastating, very tragic. Then you hear about people being lost, not accounted for, and you don’t know what’s coming in the days after. As the days progress, you hear how much worse it was and the casualties. It's very, very sad,” said Jake Robertson from Raymour and Flanigan.
Vivid Hair Salon and Spa wanted to be that supporting hand in the community and donated to Raymour and Flannigan that helped raise over five thousand dollars for these victims to help begin their lives over again.
